Maria Menounos
Maria was helping her mother with stages four of brain cancer. The doctor told her that she had an extremely serious health condition. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. "I'd been getting lightheaded while on set, and was suffering from migraines" she tells PEOPLE in their exclusive front page story. "My speech became slow and I was experiencing trouble comprehending the Teleprompter". A MRI found Menounos to have a huge-sized meningioma brain tumour which increased to the size of a golfball. It was pressing on the facial nerves. Menounos had an appointment scheduled with her mother's doctor the renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Keith L. Black who scheduled the surgery for June 8th, her 39th birthday. The doctor said the surgery was 98 percent harmless. The only thing is that we will not be able to tell when they've reached that point. The complicated procedure took around seven hours. the doctor. Black was capable of taking out 99.9% of the benign cancer. She claims that Dr. Black stated that it is likely to have the tumor be resurrected in between 6 and 7 percent of the cases. But I will take these odds any day. After returning home to her family after an eight-day stay in the hospital, Menounos is recovering and spending the time she can with her mom, Litsa, whose latest MRI shows that her cancer is solid.
